My Approach
Waves Within Psychology is built on over 10 years of experience across diverse settings. This includes the NHS, holistic settings in Southeast Asia and my ongoing personal journey of nurturing WAVES.
My experience supporting marginalised groups means my approach is inclusive, affirming and deeply empathic towards anyone who has felt different or like an outsider.
I work with adults and young people, including LGBTQ+ clients, using therapies like CBT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). Registered with the UK Health & Care Professions Council, I am committed to ongoing post-doctoral training to support complex needs and deliver the highest standards of care.
While diagnostic labels can be helpful, I understand that emotional distress is personal and complex. I am here to help you work through distress even if it doesn’t fit a formal diagnosis.
My Story & Inspiration
Like many, I understand what it’s like to struggle with self-acceptance, identity and valued living. I poured energy into perfectionism, distraction and people pleasing to essentially hide from myself and my emotion. It was absolutely exhausting, and deep down, I knew I was losing myself.
Personal crisis became my turning point, where with help I begun nurturing WAVES. I endeavour to continue my journey, not just for myself, but also for clients and the wider collective. No matter our external circumstances, inner experiences can remain seeking our attention. When we work on inner experiences, with help, everything else begins to align leading to a more fully realised life.
I believe my personal learning and values allow me to deliver therapy from a place of genuine empathy, sensitivity and care whilst holding in mind the potential that exists in everyone – we all deserve WAVES.
