Begin by reaching out for a free discovery call. This relaxed conversation is an opportunity to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and consider if working together feels right. From there, we can arrange your first session at a time that suits us.
I typically meet with clients on a fortnightly or weekly basis, depending on their needs. Following psychological treatment, we may agree to a monthly follow up for period of time.
The length of therapy depends on your individual goals, needs, and progress. Some people benefit from just a handful of sessions, while others choose ongoing support over a longer period. We’ll regularly review how things are going together, so therapy always aligns with what’s most helpful for you.
EMDR is a structured therapy for processing difficult memories. After preparing and discussing your goals, I’ll guide you through recalling these memories while using gentle, rhythmic bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping). You’ll always have support, and we’ll go at a pace that feels safe for you.
Initial sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, your history, and what you hope to achieve. We’ll talk about your experiences, explore your needs, and agree a plan tailored to your goals. This stage is all about getting to know you and building a foundation of trust and collaboration.
Sessions are paid via secure bank transfer before each appointment. You’ll receive all the details you need when we start working together, and invoices can be provided on request. If you have any questions about payment, please don’t hesitate to ask.
